Istanbul University Rıdvan Çelikel Archaeological Museum was opened

The opening ceremony of Istanbul University Rıdvan Çelikel Archaeological Museum was held at Istanbul University Faculty of Science on July 1st, 2019. The conventional cultures of Anatolia since the Paleolithic Age to the Middle Ages are presented at the museum.

The content and order of the museum was prepared by the expert academicians of İstanbul University Department of Archaeology. There are sections about the contributions of the University to the Anatolian archaeology as well as the ethnographic artifacts. There are many findings that represent the development of history of civilization and all ages since the Paleolithic Age (Stone Age) until the Ancient Age.

Rıdvan Çelikel Archaeological Museum that aims to reflect the civilization history of our country with a holistic point of view is open to visitors by July 2nd, 2019. The entrance to the museum is free of charge. Additionally, the Museum contains workshop areas where trainings about archaeology will be given to outcomers in all age groups particularly to İstanbul University students.
