Red Line Of Qatar’s Rail Project Will Work With Anel Group’s Electrical And Mechanical Systems

Having delivered several mega projects in International Standards, Anel Group has currently undertaken the Electrical and Mechanical Works of the Qatar Rail Red Line project, which is composed of 28 km of Tunnel and “South Elevated and At Grade” Project. While pointing out the difficulties of the underground working environment, Anel Group is fully committed to manage the project with “zero tolerance for error” philosophy, as done in all projects of the Group.

Anel Group will be responsible from the Electrical and Mechanical Works of 5 ea. Underground Stations, 28 km of Tunnel, 4 ea. Switchboxes, 1 ea. Launchbox, 4 ea. Emergency Exits and 32 Cross Passages under the scope of the “Qatar Rail Red Line South Underground” Project. Qatar Rail Red Line South Elevated and At Grade project is composed of 5.8-kilometer-long elevated viaduct, 0.4-kilometer-long level crossing line and 1-kilometer-long underground line. Electrical Scope will consist of Low Voltage Power Distribution, Lighting and Lighting Control System, Central Battery System, Small Power Distribution, Building Automation and Control System and Fire Detection & Alarm System, whereas the Mechanical Works will consist of Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC), NOVEC Gas Suppression System, Plumbing, Fire Extinguishing System and Fire Fighting Systems.

One of the most important transportation and infrastructure projects of the Gulf Area

Anel Group will execute the project by 404 white-collar staff and 1,393 blue-collar workers for both projects. These two projects, which will cover a total area of 181,000 m2, are accepted as one of the most important Transportation and Infrastructure Project of the Gulf Area. With the experience of 30 Years in similar specialized international projects, Anel Group will demonstrate the strength of its Engineering skills to complete the project satisfactorily.

Engineering Strength

Integrated and error-free operation of critical systems plays an important role in the Passenger and System Security in Tunnel Projects, which is generally accepted as a difficult process due to limited access points, dark working environment, communication limitations and the excessive length of the working area. Supply and transportation coordination of equipment and material suitable for tunnel applications in strict conformance to the relevant international standards, suitably sized, conditioned and located rest areas for the employees, prior preparation and coordination of Emergency Evacuation Procedures and First Aid Means, sufficient general and task lighting as well as air conditioning of the working areas, controlled disposal of underground water leakages and usage of fire rated or flame retardant paint for finished installations can be listed amongst the most important critical points that should be taken care of during the execution of the project. Accordingly, management of the project according to best practices will be ensured by the proven experience and engineering strength of Anel Group.

Operational before the 2022 FIFA World Cup

The Doha Metro project being vital for Doha’s transportation, will also serve the football fans who will come to Doha, home of the 2022 FIFA World Cup and Capital Qatar, one of the rapidly developing country of the Gulf Area. The project is planned to be operational in the second half of 2020.
